New Horizons Computer Learning Centers of Hawaii announced as Pacific Launch Site for Mile2 IT Security Training Programs
December 28, 2004, Honolulu, Hawaii – In a joint release today by New Horizons Computer Learning Centers of Hawaii and Mile2 IT Security Training (USA, Asia & Europe), the companies announced New Horizons of Hawaii as the Pacific’s launch pad for the roll out of new high-end IT security classes provided through Mile2.
“Destination Hawaii is the perfect venue for IT security training – attracting security professionals from the mainland US and Asia,” said Suzanne Bidigare, general manager of New Horizons of Hawaii.
More than just training, IT security readiness is a process that includes protecting key digital assets and capabilities, detecting attacks and malicious actions, rapid notification and reaction, and if applicable, disaster recovery.
“IT security is constantly growing and changing. Regular events at a venue easily accessible to nearly two-thirds of the globe is an obvious step for Mile2 in our mission to enable participants to learn how to secure their company’s or nation’s information assets,” said Michael Roberts, founder of Mile2.
The classes offered include Social Engineering, more commonly discussed as “deception and con” which are designed for tech and non-technical personnel, as well as course work for Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Pen Testing Specialist (CPTS) Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM). Also offered is Computer Forensics training that teaches how to catch and prosecute a thief in the event an intrusion response was too slow.
The packages include hotel, course fees and meals. “This destination program is a positive partnership for New Horizons of Hawaii, Mile2, and security professionals on either side of the Pacific,” said Bidigare.
