Origins
Mile2 evolved from a company called "Xellex" - a globally respected source of contract instructors, originally founded by the directors of Mile2. The breakaway was in response to a critical need to develop a team of security training experts following the threat to national and corporate security in the aftermath of 9/11.
Why the name "Mile2"
Mile2's name was derived from a directive given by Jesus Christ:
'If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.'
Matthew 5:41
This command has been paraphrased in recent times as "going the extra mile".
In a historical context, a Roman Legionnaire was permitted by law to command any citizen or subject, carry a load for him for a distance of approximately one mile. However, the subject was not legally bound to carry it any further.

Mile2 is a relationship-focused company. Our vision is to partner with our clients, consultants and instructors to predict, develop and deliver effective consulting and instruction services for emerging and mainstream technologies through diligent observation, research and implementation.

Mile2's enduring goal is to establish and contribute to a universal benchmark standard for adoption by Government, Military and Corporate Organizations whose intellectual property, secrets and infrastructure assets are significant strategic targets for compromise by elements with malicious and criminal intent.

In pursuing this enduring goal, Mile2 subscribes to a philosophy that endeavors to interface manpower, material and cutting edge technology to consistently yield optimum solutions to counter the threat, while faithfully discharging our contractual and social obligations to our clients, consultants, instructors, students and the community.
Objectives and Policies
From time to time Mile2 will formulate objectives identified by timelines and milestones to sustain our viability as a vibrant and dominant company. We have put in place a number of policies designed to drive our objectives to their rightful conclusion; amongst others, these policies address the issues of business ethics, gender equality, equal opportunity and sensitivity to the economic environment, to mention but a few. Mindful of changes developing on the business landscape, Mile2 will rise to the occasion by devising appropriate business policies.
