You give a good explanation as to why this is such a critical control. It is scary how much a malicious person could do if given access to sensitive information. Being able to not just read or see peoples information, but to be also able to edit it is very dangerous and could lead to many problems. You gave a good amount of examples of preventative measures one should take so stuff like this does not happen.
