It is certainly true that this world overflows with indulgences of the flesh. Not all of them are necessarily bad, but anything that is placed above God is sin for that person. This can be food, shopping, or even a job. The world is full of things that can be blessings, as long as they are kept in their proper place. The minute we place these indulgences above Christ, we are in dangerous territory. To hunger and thirst after God is to recognize that only He can fill the void that no earthly pleasure can satisfy. This divine hunger is not weakness; it is the beginning of transformation. When we seek His truth, His presence, and His will, we are promised fullness. This isn’t just a temporary fix, but a soul-deep satisfaction that renews, restores, and empowers.
