USB connectors, depending on their type, can be used with a variety of devices. For example, USB Type B is commonly used with printers due to the way it transmits data, and a USB mini-B can be used for mobile devices. Micro–USB A is used with digital cameras and cellphones, and micro–USB B is used with on-the-go devices. USB cables can often be chargers by putting them on one end of a cable to be used with an adapter, or they can connect peripherals such as a mouse or keyboard to a computer. Additionally, some devices can be charged with a laptop’s power by connecting to the laptop’s USB port.

HDMI is often used for video, but there are certain devices that the different types of HDMI connectors are used for. A standard HDMI is often used with desktops, monitors, and home theater devices. A micro-HDMI is often used with smaller form factor devices. Finally, a mini-HDMI connector can be used with portable electronic devices.
