When troubleshooting printers, the first thing you’ll need to check is the type of printer the user has. The type of printer matters because it has different parts that make it run properly. Inkjet printers use ink cartridges to print onto the paper and a stabilizer bar that holds the parts together. On the other hand, laser printers print using a combination of toner, lasers, and mirrors. If the printer is an inkjet, it can have clogged or misaligned inkjet print heads which can be fixed by using the printer’s software. There are also different types of paper for the different printers because the paper that’s used for inkjet might not be useable in a laser printer because of how the file or image is printed. Another common part that you should check if you are having problems with your printer is the rollers because they can accumulate dirt and debris over time and may need to be cleaned.
