This is a topic very similar to that which I have been discussing with my youth group. We have been discussing the responsibility of a Christian to have the integrity to not only do what is right but speak out against what is wrong and evil in the world. The “super-star” pastors do speak on love, but what about speaking out against that which God clearly states as evil? In Genesis 37:2 it says, “This is the history of Jacob. Joseph being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brothers, and the lad was with the sons of Bilha and the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives; and Joseph brought a bad report of them to his father”. When we look at Joseph, we see a young man of integrity who speaks out against the things which are wrong. Throughout his story, Joseph spends time being sold into slavery, imprisonment, but ultimately though his righteousness and God’s favor, he is promoted to the prime minister of Egypt. The lesson we learn from Joseph is that though in this world we may be unpopular and persecuted for doing what is right, God sees the hearts of all and shows favor on the righteous.
I have noticed throughout these lessons that printers appear to have many more causes for a problem than troubleshooting other devices. I agree with you that a keen eye will go a long way towards identifying issues with printers.
I like that you are very detailed in your responses. You make it clear that you understand all of the troubleshooting information. I have found in mobile devices that damaged charging ports are very common. They tend to bend easily and fill with debris.
The ethernet cable can also be far faster than traditional Wi-Fi depending on what type of cable you are running. Cat6 ethernet can run 1 Gbps. On a funnier note, I had to explain to my church’s youth group what the comp aux options were on the old tv set up in the youth room. They all were confused when they couldn’t find the HDMI cable for the DVD player.
There are currently 6 Wi-Fi standards available today. In order from one to six the standards are 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, 802.11ac, and 802.11ax. I did some research, and it appears that there is a Wi-Fi 7 and 8 in development. The encryption standards used for Wi-Fi are WEP, WPS, WPA1 and WPA2. The most commonly used encryption type is WPA2 which also consists of WPA personal and enterprise. WEP is the least common encryption standard due to it having the most issues.
The methodology behind printer troubleshooting is that there could be many causes for one issue. We will look at paper jams as an example. The study guide lists the following as possible causes for a printer to jam, overfilling of paper tray, incorrect loading of paper, paper guides are not properly aligned, problem with the paper, wrong type of paper, different types of paper, and debris caught in the path of paper travel. With printers, there is a laundry list of reasons on why something might be wrong. Eliminating potential causes of the problem is the best way to troubleshoot a printer.
Troubleshooting mobile devices is not so different than PCs. One example is short battery life. Always check to make sure your brightness setting is not maxed out, as this will drain battery quickly. Also make sure you are not running multiple applications simultaneously. This will also drain your battery life. Another example is a malfunctioning speaker. One possible issue is that the sound settings are turned all the way down. Another issue is that the speaker is not configured properly. If neither of those solve the issue, it is possible that the speaker itself has malfunctioned and needs replaced.
There are many different types of connectors for cables. Two of those include straight tip and ferrule connectors. They both are the same size at 2.5mm round. The straight tip uses a bayonet style coupling, whereas the ferrule connector uses a screw. Both have also become less commonly used due to more modernized options.
Christianity is challenging at times. There are moments where we may give in to the flesh or fall short of the standard that Jesus set before us. It is in these moments we need to strengthen ourselves because we are called to share the Gospel. Isaiah 6:8 says, “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me”. (NKJV) We need to be like Isaiah and be willing vessels for God to use.
I actually haven’t run into many display issues. I have run into slow response time on an my previous laptop, but that turned out to be corrupt files. I did have a BSOD once that was not recoverable. I agree that staying updated on software will help prevent some issues.
It is interesting how far technology has come. We even have input output devices in cars now. I have a touch screen on my dash that allows me to input commands that change the level of different aspects of my stereo system. Outputs like speakers have also come along way. I was surprised to find out my speakers will produce enough bass to shake my whole car.
I think it is interesting how much more fragile optical disks are than other means of storage, The CDs and DVDs that we use can easily not read properly if they are scratched or have to much dust on them. Streaming services are also seeming to make them more obsolete.
When it comes to troubleshooting display devices there are two potential causes for concern. One of those issues could be software, or it could be the hardware. If you get a blank screen on your display for example, you should first check if your monitor is turned on. If that doesn’t work, it could be possible that the graphics driver is not the correct type, or it might be corrupt. If your display is really dark and hard to make out, you should check the brightness level and see if it is set to dim. Another cause of this issue could be that the device defaulted to a battery conservation mode that lowered your display’s brightness.
Input and output devices are essentially the embodiment of a cause effect relationship. A user inputs information via mouse, keyboard, or touchpad to then get a result on an output device such as a computer monitor. Doing this very assignment is an example of utilizing input and output devices. I am using my mouse and keyboard (input devices) to type my reply and see it on my laptop’s display screen (output device). There are also dual input-output devices like a KVM switch. This device is used to connect 2 or more monitors to a single mouse and keyboard.
Physical computer storage is a physical device used to store data and software. Some physical storage devices include things like hard drives RAID storage and compact disks. Hard drives can be solid or magnetic. RAID or Redundant Array of Independent Disks is a method of storage where multiple storage disks act as one to improve performance. Raid has multiple variations designed to improve data loss prevention. Compact disks or CD-ROM are used to store data like music. These optical drives are the most likely to have errors due to simple things like dust, fingerprints, or scratches on the disk itself.
