This week’s devotional touches on the importance of using our resources (time, gifts, etc.) for God’s glory. In Matthew 20, the vineyard owner calls several people to go work in His vineyard to receive their pay. Being called by God to serve is a great honor, so it is important to take action and to go do it. It may be difficult because of other things vying for our attention, but we should focus on what God is telling us to do. Of course, we should seek God’s will and Word for what He wants us to do specifically, but once we know, we should obey. That can be a specific thing, like serving at a certain church event or using a specific talent God has given us. However, it can also be a general calling that applies to all Christians, such as being a light to others we encounter each day by showing God’s love to them.
