KeymasterMATTHEW 17 – HEAR HIM
“While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.” Matthew 17:6
With the ever-growing presence of internet media, we have many voices that contend for our attention. These voices passionately focus on politics, academics, scandalous events, as well as social-economical problems.
These voices tend to shape our opinions, the way we think, and the people we often become. Although there is temporary value to stay abreast of current events, there is eternal value to listen to the voice that said,
“This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear him.”
CHALLENGE
My friend, God is speaking: do you hear His voice? If not, perhaps His voice has been drowned out by the many voices you may be exposing yourself to; social platforms, news media, and online entertainment channels.
God has a message for you. “This is my beloved Son, hear Him”. Are you ready to hear Him? God is speaking, “hear Him.”

ParticipantHello everyone. I think that this passage hits deep for all of us. As i go on about our day, there are times where i find my thoughts wondering about many things that i should not be worrying about. Some of those occurrences can be either financial, work related or even convictions are felt. The Holy Spirit is our guide and should be the voice in which we actively seek. It is difficult at times because we are constantly exposed to social media, and other worldly things that will easily distract us. As long as we actively seek the Lord, God will speak to you and will provide you guidance and comfort.

ParticipantHearing from God above any other voices is so important and needed in our lives. It can be easy to fall into the trap of listening to just any voice that we hear online or even believing whatever we think in our minds. However, focusing on and listening to God’s voice is what is beneficial to our spiritual lives. Otherwise, it can be hard to know what the truth is if we are not listening to the truth: Jesus. Hearing from God shows us our identity in Him. In Matthew 17:6, God spoke about Jesus’s identity as God’s Son. God also speaks to us about who we are in Him and how much He loves us. This verse also took place pretty early in Jesus’s ministry. Listening to God helps us stay rooted in who we are in Him and gives us hope to continue in what He has called us to do.
