ParticipantMATTHEW 5 – BE FILLED
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6
In this world, there is everything for the flesh. We can fill our stomachs with every sweet treat under the sun. For the flesh, we can bathe our bodies with ointments of every kind, from the top of our head to the sole of our feet. The world compels us to fancy beauty, stardom, and wealth; filling our temples with every carnal glory under the sun.
And yet, no matter how much we serve our bodies, the appetite of the flesh continues to be unsatisfied.
Why may you ask? Because in this world, there may be everything for the flesh, but there is nothing for the soul. For in this world, we aren’t born into the land of the living, but of the dead. And in this land, it leaves the soul destitute, wanting, and grossly deprived.
This spiritual vacuum deep within man can only be satisfied by the life-changing power of the creator God. And for those who “hunger” and “thirst” after God’s righteousness, “shall be filled”!
CHALLENGE
Oh, there is so much in this world that we can fill our bodies with. Therefore, let us be wise and fill our spiritual pantries with God’s will. Let the saints of God feast on His word and drink of His spirit, for incredible blessings, await them who pursue God’s eternal righteousness

ParticipantThis devotion highlights a truth that many people discover through experience: nothing in this world can truly satisfy the deepest needs of the soul. We are surrounded by endless opportunities to pursue comfort, possessions, pleasure, and recognition, yet these things never provide lasting peace. Jesus teaches that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Those who desire God and His ways above all else—will be satisfied. I was listening to the Diary of CEO and he interviewed JD Vance. VP Vance echoed these sentiments, and mentioned that no human achievement can fill the God shaped hole in peoples lives. I need to work harder on denying myself and picking up my cross to do God’s work.

ParticipantOne of the most encouraging promises in the teachings of Jesus is found in Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” This passage points out an important reality about human nature. All men have inner desires and yearnings that worldly pleasures, successes or goods cannot entirely satisfy. People often look for happiness in wealth, prosperity, entertainment, relationships or individual achievement but these things give only temporary contentment. The need for something greater ultimately reappears.
Today’s prevailing culture is all about promoting the desire for comfort, luxury, popularity and financial success. Success is often measured by society through a person’s wealth, possessions or social status. These goals are not necessarily wrong, but they do not fulfill the deeper needs of the human soul. There are many people who look prosperous on the outside yet feel empty, anxious, lonely and without purpose. This demonstrates that worldly prosperity is not enough to bring about long-lasting contentment and peace of mind.
Jesus told us that the way to ultimate fulfillment is to seek justice. Righteousness is living in accordance with God’s will, pursuing holiness, and building a deep relationship with Him. The bodily demands of life are hunger and thirst, and so the believer should have a strong desire to grow and obey God. For sincere seekers of Him there will be a sense of contentment, tranquilly and purpose like no other.
The promise of the “filled” believer suggests God’s readiness to satisfy those who approach to Him. He provides comfort, wisdom, spiritual strength and guidance to people who place their faith in him. Christians can enter into the fullness of God’s presence in their life through prayer, study of the scripture, worship and obedient living. -

ParticipantI really enjoyed reading this devotional. It is a great reminder that no matter how much we chase after things in this world, they can never truly satisfy us the way God can. We live in a world that constantly tells us to seek money, success, popularity, and material things, but those things only bring temporary happiness. True peace and fulfillment come from having a relationship with God and seeking His righteousness.
This message made me think about times in my own life when I focused too much on my problems, goals, or responsibilities and not enough on my spiritual growth. When life gets busy, it can be easy to neglect prayer, Bible reading, and spending time with God. Yet those are the very things that strengthen us and help us through difficult seasons.
Matthew 5:6 reminds us that when we hunger and thirst for righteousness, God promises to fill us. I am thankful for that promise because God is the only one who can truly satisfy the needs of our soul. Thank you for sharing this encouraging message.

ParticipantMatthew 5:6 gives us a direct answer on how to feel at peace in our world. I never knew of this verse until I heard it in church and it came at the perfect time. In a time I was trying to fill the void in my heart with sports and everything around me other than God I heard this verse for the first time and it was fulfilling and gave me hope that there is a way to fill the emptiness I was dealing with. Being in his presence and reading his word brings me a different kind of peace and that part of my day is always when I feel my best. Matthew 5:6 is so encouraging and can be a very powerful verse to someone who has never meant God or has parted ways with him. I’m currently trying to help a friend grow their relationship with God and this will definitely be a verse I go to. If you guys could also just say a prayer for my friend as they begin this spiritual journey that would be much appreciated!

ParticipantIenjoyed reading your personal experience with Matthew 5:6. I think it is amazing how God can place the right verse in our lives at exactly the right time. I can relate to what you said about trying to fill a void with other things. Many people look for peace and happiness in activities, success, or relationships, only to realize that true peace comes from God.
I also like how you shared that spending time in God’s presence and reading His Word is when you feel your best. That is a great reminder that God is the only one who can truly satisfy the hunger and thirst in our hearts. Your testimony shows how powerful this verse can be for someone who is struggling or searching for purpose.
I think it is wonderful that you are helping your friend grow in their relationship with God. That can make a huge difference in someone’s life. I will definitely keep your friend in my prayers and pray that God guides them, strengthens their faith, and draws them closer to Him. Thank you for sharing such an encouraging message.
