MARK 6 – WHAT MAN IS THIS?

“And on the Sabbath, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things? What is the wisdom given to him? How do his hands do such mighty works?” Mark 6:2

When the elders came to consider what Jesus may say, they were baffled, for Jesus’s words were nothing like they had ever heard. His words were profound. His logic was mystifying… His wisdom was heavenly. They marveled because “no man spoke like this man.” Moreover, indeed, no man did the works of God.

Not only were the words of Jesus unique, but His works defied medical limitations and human rationale. Wherever Jesus went, He stirred His listeners to contemplate the Godhead and deeply penetrated the hearts of desperate people to cry out and repent of their sins.

CHALLENGE

You have heard of God’s words. You have read about His miracles. Apart from Jesus, no man has ever spoken or worked as Jesus did.

With this in mind, who is this person to you? Is He the God-Man who has provided you salvation? If not, perhaps it is time to petition that He would give you life and truly be your God. RPF
