      MATTHEW 22 – ENTANGLING WORDS

“Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to entangle him in his words.”Matthew 22:15

The more Jesus spoke, the more the Pharisees disdained Him. The more good works Jesus performed the more the Sadducees hated him. The Sanhedrin did their best to trick Jesus and confuse Him.

When they were unsuccessful, Jesus’s detractors became so desperate, they began to plot against Jesus to murder Him.

Ultimately, they would condemn him to die. What was Jesus’s crime?  His crime was giving hope to the hopeless, healing the sick, even raising the dead.

      CHALLENGE

My friend, the world is enmity with the Lord Jesus; His very name, they cringe. Why? Because Jesus is righteous and He is the light of men. Where as men, their hearts are dark, they love sin. And to love sin, is to hate God. Therefore, may every mouth whose confesses the name of Jesus,  “love the Lord, [and] hate evil”! (Psalm 97:100)
